Poco Mail Composition FAQ - Hiding Email Addresses when Sending Mail to Multiple Recipients

Q: How do you send emails to more than one person without all the other email address showing on all the emails?

A: There are several ways you could accomplish this:
  • Use the "BCC" field to do this. If you want to do this from a script, use the AddBCC command.
  • Download and use the "send_to_all_address_book" script (available from the Registered users area on the Poco website). This sends separate copies of an email to all people in a particular address book. (If there are 10 people in an address book then 10 separate emails are generated by the script).
  • Set the "Split message if total recipients more than" setting on the "Sending Mail" tab of the "Program Options" window (Shift+F7) to 1. This has the drawback of generating many messages for your mail server to send and saving a copy of each message generated in one of your Poco folders. If you use this technique then set the option back after sending the message.
