Poco Install FAQ - Installing Poco on a network

Q: Can I put Poco on an NT server at work (do I have to get a network version)?

A: Poco can be run on NT 4 Server OS, as a stand-alone client. Poco works fine under NT 4, Workstation or Server.

Now, if we are talking about the ability to network Poco:

    - If you are the sole user of a Poco installation, that installation can run over network without any problem. I.e. instead of installing Poco into "C:\Program Files\Poco", you can run it from "\\Server\Poco" and reach your Poco from several workstations, one at the time.
  • - You can also share mailboxes or address books over the network, but it is not recommended, meaning that as long as you are doing read-only access you should be fine. (PS: This scenario assumes you have purchased sufficient licenses for the number of users who will be using Poco).
