Poco Reading Mail FAQ - Replacing Attachments with same name

Q: When I receive attachments for files that I have already received the file name of the attachment is having a suffix added. Most of the files that I receive duplicate copies of are replacements to existing files. How can I configure Poco to not add a numeric suffix to these files?

A:
  1. From the the "Tools" menu select "Options".
  2. Press the "Encoding Options" tab on the left side of the window. In the "Attachment Encoding" group:
  3. Check the "Overwrite decoded attachments with the same name" box.
  4. Enter a list of extensions (file types) in the "with the following extensions:" field. Separate each item in the list with spaces. This field is not case sensitive.

For example, to configure Poco to replace duplicate ".DOC", PocoScript and GIF attachments check the "Overwrite attachments with the same name" box and enter:

DOC POC GIF in the "with following extensions:" field. This will cause Poco to overwrite DOC, POC and GIF files.
