Skins primer

Q: How do you begin making a skin for poco? Is there a copy of a base skin we start from like in winamp?

A: Basically, Poco's skins are defined by a file called DEFAULT.INI, which must be placed in its own directory within Skins directory. The INI file then references images that have to be saved in the same directory, and at the same time defines colours and positioning for all the buttons. All the button images have to be BMPs, while the toolbar background has to be a JPG. Colours are defined as decimal numbers, or for those more familiar with hex colours use "$0000FF" notation for red. If you prefer the HTML RRGGBB notation to Windows BBGGRR just prefix the colour with #, so red would be "#FF0000".

To check out a sample file, look inside the Small Toolbar directory, or download one of the skins from the web site, Natal has made a good one!
