| Q: | I am experiencing timeouts when downloading messages. What can I do to improve things? |

| A: | Timeouts appear to happen when there are large files waiting, particularly ones with images or large attachments in them. To help get around this I suggest you increase the "Timeout" setting. You can find this near the bottom of the "Network Settings" tab of the "Program Options" window (Shift+F7 or select "Options" from the "Tools" menu). The setting you want to check is "Time-out online operations after (seconds)". At some point I increased the setting on my system to 180 seconds and I rarely have problems with timeouts since doing this. You might also check the "Maximum number of threads to spawn on check mail". I have my setting at 3. |
